The documents listed below are
from ADM 103/640 and complement the list of
those who died at Dartmoor.
They provide a form of death certificate for
some of those who died – there appear
to be some 42 missing.
However they do list those who were shot during
the massacre, they are marked **. It also contains
notices of seven who escaped these are marked
*.
Further they supply information not given
in the other list, they identify if the prisoner
was from a MW= man of war, MV= merchant vessel,
Privateer or LM= letter of marque and lastly
they indicate where the prisoner was captured.
If you find a person your interested in it’s
worthwhile checking both lists and the Dartmoor
register – the prisoner number is a common
link, the spelling of names may change slightly.
Lastly note that some used alias both names
