The Matilda Schooner Privateer from Philadelphia, with 12 guns, and 90 men, was taken on the 22nd. March, off Pernambuco, by the Lion Letter of Marque, of London, Mr. James Thompson Commander, after a severe action . Captain Thompson and 8 Men were wounded, and 2 men killed; the American Captain and first Lieut. and 4 men were killed, and the second Lieutenant and 21 Men wounded. - The Matilda had been out 53 days and made one Prize.

The Lion Privateer of London, Thompson, Master, was on the 5th June in Lat. 3.46 S. Long. 34. W. on a Cruize.

The Lion Privateer, Thompson, of London, was totally wrecked between Pernambuco and Bahia the middle fo July. Crew saved.
